Yesterday afternoon we went to check the cows and Helee wanted to swim. Do you see the little friend that is still with us 3 days later??
Yep, the turtle has survived 3 days of the Helee-Monster! He has a bucket of water with a rock in it to swim in while Helee is working in the barn, he's taken SEVERAL rides in the back of He-man's gator & has played in the back of Tanner's truck for hours on end! He even survived Helee (literally) dunking him in the water yesterday.
"Look Mom, My turtle can go all the way to the bottom!!"
Poor Turtle, since he was getting alittle water logged, Tanner set the turtle in the dirt to let him "Breath"
I think Mr. Turtle found this as his opportunity to escape!
We carried on playing with the kids. Watching Helee swim...& even let Cross dip his toes (which by the way he HATED)
Such Great Family bonding! Until....
We realized the Turtle ESCAPED! So, have you ever tracked a turtle? I literally followed his tracks in the dirt, looking for places where his shell scraped the sand as he RAN away.
This rye is 4 feet tall! It took us over 2 hours to find one of our cows last Sunday who was calving. Seriously, how do you find a GREEN (really green cause Helee applied another coat of paint Wednesday) in a 120 acres of GREEN wheat & rye??
Well guess what we found after 30 or more minutes of tracking??
Yep! We found him. We'd given up & were about to leave and deal with our devasted 3 year old who lost his turtle, when low & behold....Justin spotted the turtle. He'd crawled out of the wheat field, across the turn row & into another field. WOW....I think we deserve parents of the year!
