Pre-Stock Show Week!

Thank you for the sweet comments on my last post.  My Grandad went to Heaven last Friday Night....about 12 hours after I published that post.  What a sweet, Godly man he was. I know that he was so EXCITED to be HOME....& the Family was EXCITED for him.

It's Stockshow week here.  Which means:

A: We spend every night in the pig barns....even more so than before.

B: My house is full of smelly boys & pig shavings....even more so than before.

C: My husband rather be with the pigs than me.....even more so than before! ; )

I didn't grow up around pigs, cows or much of the farm life that I live now.  Yes, I lived in the country & my dad had a few cows (like 6 at the most, that were more like pets & would come running to you and eat out of your hand...seriously) but it wasn't the REAL country life that we live now.  I was watching Helee help Tanner in the barn the other night...and I couldn't be more proud of the man he is going to become.  Tanner was putting baby oil on a pig (it helps condition there skin & hair) and Helee climbed in the pen with a brush and started brushing the pig. He would bend down and look closely at the pig...and brush exactly where the hair needed to lay down. He loves to be right at Tanner's side and he watches his every move.  It just makes me smile! 

Cross is learning these things too....

We have to watch him, because he always wants to pet the pigs...he's not scared at all. They can be screaming (which is REALLY loud if you've never heard a pig scream) and he just watches them.

And Smiles when he sneaks that hand in & touches them....

Tanner and I are having a weekend kid-less! We are leaving Saturday morning & flying home to the parents.  Corey's engagement party is Saturday night...Cocktail attire! As much as I love these piglets...a girl likes to get fancy too!!!

So hopefully my blog post next week will be full of Pigs & Blue Ribbons...and alittle fanciness too!!
