Weekend Wrap Up

My big baby started school today.  I can not believe he is big enough to go!!

Our town has built a beautiful new school! It is close to being complete.  They still have not built the elementary wing, so Helee is still in the old school. But 2nd thru 12th all started today in the new building!

Helee's class is the last class to ever go to Kindergarten in the old school...that's a fun way to think about it! They could be in the new school by spring break...we will see though!

Friday night, the school had open house.  Helee was excited to see his new school & Cross was alittle excited too!

This would have probably been more fitting had it been Helee walking in...this is the old school.

Helee did not get in the same class with his friend, Lily, but she is just across the hall!

His buddy Sawyer is in his class though! (I was so happy about that!)

The new library is so nice! Helee was ready to pick out some books!

As we were walking thru the new school, I thought about how neat it was that Helee is going to the same school his Dad went to...along with Tanner's parents & grandparents! Yes, its a new building, but the same school. Actually...his classroom is the same classroom that Tanner went to kindergarten in!

As I was being all sentimental about that moment. & yes, I did tear up a bit walking Helee to his classroom...I completely got "photo-bombed"..

----------------

We spent Saturday doing nothing much.  We had a litter of pigs and just hung out at the house.  We woke up Sunday & went to church.  Both boys actually went to children's church! I was so excited that they went!

We went home really fast & then were going to head to LBK to eat & grab a few groceries.  As we were leaving the house, we had a little mishap with our dog,  "Dirt Barn"  : (

Dirt Barn showed up at my office last year. She has been the BEST dog.  She was SO protective of our boys.  It was amazing to see the bond she developed with them so fast!

We had to say goodbye to her yesterday.  Helee was really upset.  It wasnt a great way to start the school year at all. So..it ended a pretty good weekend on a sad note.

He quit crying soon, and just mentioned it a few times through out the day. He has such a sensitive heart.  We have lost several animals in Helee's short 5 years, so he knows its just part of life.  Just doesn't make it much easier!

Aw, starting school is always a big day! I remember crying so much to my folks.

So sad about the dog, at least he knew a good one when he had one.
